The information supplied in this survey enables Stats NZ to update its register of companies, business partnerships, organisations, self-employed persons and other economic entities. The accuracy of this register is vital as it supplies a current classified database which provides:
- annual statistics on New Zealand businesses,
- respondent details for other surveys of national importance.
For the purpose of this survey, a 'business' can be an enterprise or an organisation that operates for profit or not for profit (eg shop, company, trust, club).
Your legal obligation
